HM-72 Kikuchi
100 % Thai Kozo
105 GSM
No Sizing
12x16 inches
If you are familiar with HP-61 and 62 Okawara Handmade, Kikuchi is very similar, but twice the weight. The paper feels soft due to the finely beaten kozo fibers that inhabit the body of the sheet. Because it's made from Kozo, it possesses great inherent strength, but it is not sized, so wet media will feather on this paper. This can be counteracted through the use of Dosa (which requires Nikawa) or Gamblin's PVA Size. Ideal for woodblock printing and many other printmaking processes, Kikuchi can also be used for drawing, calligraphy, and as a substrate for Japanese painting or Nihonga.
