Echizen's most famous paper. Hosho was originally used to communicate opinions and decisions among the emperor and shoguns. Today, it has transformed its use to woodblock printing and calligraphy paper.

The Kizuki Hosho  in particular, made by national living treasure Ichibei Iwano, is the premier washi of Echizen.

100% Japanese Kozo of the highest grade from Ibaraki Prefecture.
With a smoother texture than other Hosho papers.

*Kizuki means 100% kozo paper made by traditional Japanese papermaking methods. Another Kizuki washi of ours is "Usu Mino".
