Ever wondered how to make Japanese paper but don’t know where to start?

Hiromi and Yuki will be teaching a Fundamentals of Japanese Papermaking workshop, with a focus on material preparation. Participants will learn how to prepare the kozo fibers and neri formation aid, followed by a papermaking demonstration and some time to make your own small sheets of Japanese papers.

Description:

Starting with the preparation of materials, this workshop will be a simplified version of the traditional Japanese papermaking method. After a brief introduction on Japanese papers, we will dive in to preparing the kozo pulp and neri formation aid. Then, after a Japanese papermaking demonstration by Hiromi, participants will have some time to make their own small sheets of papers.
